Something’s Different…

We got a makeover!  And this one was a long time coming.  When I started Raving Fashionista I was on the brink of quitting my job in New York to see what kind of fashion-related job I could find for myself in Philadelphia.  Blogs were still a very new thing, and I thought it’d be a fun way to keep motivating me to get dressed every day when I’d no longer be in the “big city”, but I struggled with what I was going to call this site.  At the same time, we were trying to name my blog, we were also going through a long list of options for what to call the marketing and design company my guy was starting.  Ultimately I settled on “Raving Fashionista”.  I picked it because to “rave” is to speak or write about someone or something with great enthusiasm or admiration, and I already did just that in regards to clothes so it seemed like a good fit. I’ve always liked the name well enough, but over the years, I think I’ve outgrown it.  (Plus do you know how many people follow Raving Fashionista thinking it’s a site for dance ravers? I’ve been ready for a change.)

The last rebranding we did, I wasn’t ready to fully let go of Raving Fashionista, so we tried out RF Style by Raving Fashionista, and added a sister site for styling inquiries that was RFStyle.Me.  This time around, I’m putting my own name on my site finally, and transitioning to SG Style Me.  I’m growing and evolving and it was time my site did too.  This “side” of the site will still be dedicated to personal style, with the hope of inspiring outfit ideas in your own closet, but there will also be a new addition to the site with an “At Home” tab.  You can learn more about that here.

We went back and forth for a long time about the redesign and how we wanted it to look, and kept putting it on the back burner.  I’ve admittedly been neglecting this site a lot lately, but not because I’d lost interest, and now that I’ve got a fresh look, I’m ready to get back to regular posting with lots of new content.  I’d love to know what you think, and I hope you’ll continue to follow along.

xx Sarah
